Love Story
Marc and Julie initially met in high school, but, although their lockers were practically next to each other, they were in different grades, and didn’t hang out together. About ten years later, they eventually reconnected through a mutual friend, and after getting to know each other better, they finally realized it was a match made in heaven!
The relationship officially began in 2010. Since then, they have cherished many moments developing common interests.
Since Marc and Julie are both athletic and enjoy the outdoors, the couple has spent countless hours picking berries, hiking, paddling, and camping in the backcountry. Most notably, the three 5- and 6-day backpacking trips they took in Killarney and Lake Superior Provincial Parks were particularly memorable. They also played softball on the same team for a number of years in a league and in tournaments. During the pandemic, they even ran a half-marathon together! Now they spend their summer days taking long walks and gardening, while they like playing darts, cards, and board games on rainy days and in winter.
Side by side, they have achieved several of life’s important milestones. In 2018, they bought their first new car. They visited Israel in 2019 for Marc’s first trip abroad — and got to float in the Dead Sea! And in 2020, they bought their first house. Most recently in 2022, they got engaged in Italy!
These days, their little family is made up of three cats: Grooby-Doo, who has been with them since the very beginning in 2010; Griffer, who was given to them in 2013; and Piper, who found her way to them in 2016. They are also hoping to be joined by a new canine companion in the winter of 2023.
And, the pair absolutely adores spending quality time with their nieces and nephews! From rock climbing, laser tag, scavenger hunts, and white water rafting to escape rooms, the ballet, mani-pedis, and hockey games, they always have a blast!
